Topic: Problems with RME fireface 800 TCO

Hello everybody!

I have a serious problem with my RME fireface 800 TCO. I have installed the TCO in the interface, but at the moment there is nothing connected to the TCO (no BNC).

I don't understand why if the Clock Mode Autosync is on (no master) in the TCO options, the frecuency then changes to 46000 Hz (there's nothing connected to the RME, but the firewire, and there is not any DAW opened).

I have recorded some songs and when I've rendered the projects, the frecuency changes to 44100, and the sound is lower and slower.

If I change the Clock Mode to Master, the frecuency changes to 44100 Hz (ok!!!), but a green light in the frontal of the RME interface starts flashing (it's the TCO light).

How could I manage to set the autosync clock mode to 44100 Hz? And why does the light flash when I set the Master Mode?

Thanks a lot.

Re: Problems with RME fireface 800 TCO

There is no need to set clock mode to AutoSync when there is no input signal. Quite logical, IMHO.

The TCO stores the last valid sample rate and continues to send it. That's why the input LED starts flashing when you do not use the TCO's clock signal, it is no longer in sync.

The TCO's firmware should be updated. Please contact your local distributor for the latest EPROM.

Re: Problems with RME fireface 800 TCO

I was talking with the spanish distributor (http://www.microfusa.com)  and they told me that they did'nt know how to update de TCO option. They said that, in the past, the  upgrade of the TCO firmware was possible at RME's website, but now, they don't know how.
