Can anyone tell me how to arrange to get the headphones work in one channel without hearing the speakers when recording another . When I try do do this I get either speaker AND headphone, or no speaker and no headphone.

Speakers and headphones can't be used independently on this card, sorry.
You could use the SPDIF out to feed an external converter, that would be independent.

Thanks for the answer, How do I use the spdif, and what kind of external converter are u talking about ??
RME ADI-2 for instance. Or any other device with SPDIF I/O.
