Topic: FF800 Windows 7 problem

Hi, I'm having a bit of trouble with my FF800 but I suspect it to be my fault not knowing how to set up things properly.

I get to use my FF800 as my main audio device fine under Windows 7 64 bit. For ONE application at a time that is.

When I use Cubase 5 64 bit I can't have it opened and playback a track with Windows Media Player at the same time.
I get an error. Same with Melodyne Editor Standalone.

I need to record a track with Cubase while it is being played by Winamp.

Under Control Panel/Sound I've set the FF800 to be my default audio and recording device.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for your time and help!

J

Re: FF800 Windows 7 problem

Please disable the channels you wish to use for WMP etc. in Cubase (F4).

Re: FF800 Windows 7 problem

Hi Daniel,

thanks for your help. I've already looked for that and it's definately not the problem.
It happens also when Cubase is not involved.
It seems I can't use my FF800 on two applications at the same time.
Strange, because it's never been a problem with the internal standard soundcard.

"Windows Media Player encountered a problem" is what I get when I wanna listen to music file while having Cubase or Melodyne open.

Re: FF800 Windows 7 problem

Did you really assign different playback channels for system sounds and every ASIO program (cubase, etc.)?
And do you use the same sampling rate in all programs that are running at the same time?

Re: FF800 Windows 7 problem

Have you tried ASIO4ALL free drivers ?
