Topic: FF400 - informative question about instrument level output

Hi,

This is purely informative question....

For re-amping purposes, instrument out level (instead of line level)
would be extremely useful.

Since RME allows analog inputs on FF to be changed from line
level input to instrument level input... I'd like to ask if it would be
possible to change line level output to instrument level output?

In this case direct connection from soundcard to guit/bass amplifier
would be possible...  (avoiding re-amping device altogether)

Any thoughts?

What are the headphone outs on that thing line or inst? Im guessing line.

After a quick check, it is line level.

Set the output to -10 dBV and you're done.

Re: FF400 - informative question about instrument level output

Hello,

It works fine for clean amp settings, but for heavy distortion settings there is much more noise. If I plug guitar directly to amp it produces less noise...

Does this happen because of impedance differences?

I am using Left channel of  FF400 headphone out... unbalanced connection.

Thanks,
