Topic: FF400 hardware volume knob stops working

Using the new 2.6.7 driver on OSX 10.6.2, though I've been having this issue a lot with the past drivers too.  Sometimes (usually) the hardware volume knob on my FF400 will not control the volume of the selected channel as it should.  I turn the knob and see the LED values on the FF400 increase, but the sound and faders in CueMix don't move at all.  Using the mouse to adjust the volume in Cuemix works fine, the volume changes and I see the hardware LED's reflect the proper values as well.  Rebooting my laptop sometimes fixes the issue, other times I have to reboot 5-6 times before the hardware will work again.  Additionally, sometimes it will work fine for awhile, and then just stops working in the middle of a session.

I've tried reloading the CueMix preset as well, but that does not solve the issue, neither does powering off the FF400 and then turning it back on.

Re: FF400 hardware volume knob stops working

Did you already try to set another interface as system sound output (or set the FF as system sound output if it is not)?

What happens if you change the volume via keyboard (f-keys) while the FF is set to system sound output?

When you tried loading the preset, did you flash the preset back into the FF (via menu option), too?

>>>Yes. The only thing that can cause it to be recognized is a reboot, and that doesn't always work. <<<

Re: FF400 hardware volume knob stops working

Hm, I will have to install v2.67 (and find some time)to take a further look at this, but I just used 2.65 on 10.6.2 for watching some video via the FF400 as system sound output and I could easily change the volume via the f-keys on the blutooth keyboard.

Sound more like a broken device to me than a broken driver. What happens in standalone mode (did I ask that before in the other therad?)?

Works fine in standalone mode.

Re: FF400 hardware volume knob stops working

Just happened again, and this time I'm able to use my keybaord to change the volume.  Still takes a reboot to get the knob working though.
