When I run both cards. after a while the signal distorts with a ring modulation sound. If I physically disconnect one box, it stops. some times if I let it sit for a minute it goes away. I updated the drivers and firmware and it still does it. The DAW has been faultless for a year running just one card. Cubase says that it can run two cards at once.

Exactly as mentioned in the manual. Sync both cards for example by Word Clock.
i set them both to word clock in the pref sync ref box and the second card to autosync, in the clock mode yet the second card still reads master in the system clock box. what am i doing wrong Do you have to physically connect a cable to the word clock out and in of the two cards
