Topic: Playing MP3s, iTunes thru FireFaceUC sounds distorted

Since the unit is new, I am testing its capabilities.

I have tried to choose FireFaceUC as the preferred playback device from OS X System preferences.
My FireFace is connected to powered monitors from out1-2 with balanced TRS cables.

The sound is distorted.
Correct channels are selected for Monitoring @ Total Mix

Out7-8 sounds good but they are unbalanced.

What am I doing Wrong?

You did not not start TotalMix to check the levels - or forgot to tell us what they look like.

Also, are you sure it's the output and not the input? Have you checked and tried changing the level reference setting in the FF settings window? What kind of speakers are you using?

Re: Playing MP3s, iTunes thru FireFaceUC sounds distorted

The speakers were Yamaha HS50Ms but I have found out the problem.
Driver firmware mismatch.

I have a first generation ( CoreDuo ) white MacBook as well and it had older driver with my newest firmware.
I rarely use it.
I have plugged it into my new MacBook Pro and it sounds good with iTunes.
So, all is well now.
