Topic: Madi sync without wordclock?

Hallo,

I?m working at Swedish radio and we are discussing the need for a separate WC sync in a Madi setup??
According to AES standard there should be a separate WC sync.
I?m talking about liverecording setups.
Should this in its turn mean that we have to have a separate coax cable connected to the PA mixer?
My experience is that the embeeded madi sync is working, and I have never had any problems.
The right way to do this?

Which configuration ? Mixer ? Madi interface, soft to record ?

With RME interfaces, SteadyClock can extract a good clock signal from the MADI stream, so separate word clock is not strictly necessary. Other manufacturers' devices may not perform as well.
