Topic: unbalanced wiring for AO4S

hi.

i want to feed each of the 4 mono outputs of the AO4S into one of the four stereo aux inputs of a headphone amp to be able to provide 4 different mono headphone mixes.

i want to be sure about the wiring:

the balanced outputs of the AO4S should be: tip=hot(+), ring=cold(-) and sleeve=gnd
the unalanced stereo aux inputs of the headphone amp are: tip=left, ring=right, sleeve=gnd

i think the correct wiring would be:
AO4S tip --> AUX tip and AUX ring
AO4S ring --> not used / unconnected
AO4S sleeve --> AUX sleeve

is that correct or should the AO4S ring be shortened to gnd?

thank you in advance

Re: unbalanced wiring for AO4S

It's always worth to read the manual:

8. Analog Outputs    The electronic output stage does not operate servo balanced! When connecting unbalanced equipment, make sure the ring of a TRS jack is not connected. A conection of ring to ground (monaural jack) will cause an increase in THD (higher distortion)!
