I am planning to build a computer for use with an RME bus interface. Any recommendations on a motherboard and processor to maximize performance?

Hi, I recently upgraded to the cost efficient i5-750 Quadcore (4x 2,67 GHz) and a Gigabyte P55 UD3 mainboard. I'm running Windows 7 and have LOADS of headroom. Just refrain from installin gunnecessary softs and turn off Aero style desktop. CPU and MB are about EUR 280,-. Put in 4 Gigs of generic DDR3 Ram (80,-) and works like a charm. Had some clicks when setting latency to 1,5 ms - this obviously disappeared after disabling Aero and updating/flashing to newest driver/firmware. Hope this helps.

ASUS Boards have always been solid performers for me over the years.

Hi,
If you want go with Intel i7 920 CPU, I can recommend Gigabyte EX58 UD5.
Very well built IMHO and very mature BIOS.
I have tested with hdsp 9632 and hdspe AIO and all is fine.
