Topic: ADI-2 Deafening Burst of White Noise

I bought an ADI-2 last summer, and I run it S/PDIF in and out of my Digi 002 with Pro Tools 7.4.  It's been wonderful except for one problem:

When clocking to the ADI, whether I'm tracking or playing back, I occasionally get an ABSOLUTELY DEAFENING burst of digital hiss/white noise/static.  If I'm watching the meters in my DAW while it happens the noise registers and pegs the meter to the top (doesn't trip the clip indicator), but it doesn't "print" to my tracks. 

Any help would be welcome.  My ears can't take much more.
