Topic: FF UC as a MIDI-Interface in a Live Session

Hello list,

I?ll try to have the following setup for a live session and I want to know if this is possible:
- MIDI-Guitar connected to FF UC via the MIDI-IN-port.
- Laptop connected to FF UC via USB
- Laptop running synthesizer software, e. g. "Native instruments"
I know that a fast laptop with an i5 or i7 is needed.

1) Is it possible to get the MIDI-data into the computer via the FF UC, generate the sound with the laptop and use the excellent D/A-outputs from the FF UC for the generated sound as a source for a local PA?

2) Now I want to extend the setup like the following:
- 2 microphones
- 1 normal guitar
=> Is it possible to record and mix the 4 inputs: 2 microphones, 1 guitar and the generated sound (based on the incoming MIDI-data) coming from the laptop?

Many thanks for your help!

Regards

Alex

Sure, should be fine. You can mix & record inside the DAW program, and the Fireface UC will work as expected with all the inputs you plan to use.
