Topic: FF800/MacbookPro 2010 i7/BootCamp/Win7

Hello,

is there anyone out there who's using the following configuration:
FF800/MacbookPro 2010 i7/BootCamp
and can tell me whether it works flawlessly a) under SnowLeopard
and b) Windows7? And whether both the 32-bit and the 64-bit version of Windows7
would work? Or if there's any danger? :-)
I browsed this forum a lot and it seems to me that with the new MBP some firewire issues
have finally become better but I couldn't find a clear answer (maybe I just overread it, then sorry
for doubleposting...) I've had enough battles with bootcamp, firewire and MOTU interfaces which I solved
with a TI-chip FW-expresscard, but I'm fed up with that and got a FF800 which works with
my gradually dying old MBP.

Thanks a lot!!!

Martin

For whom it may concern:

Update... MBP 2010 i7/Bootcamp/Win7 64 bit works flawlessly so far with FF 800. As well as with Snow Leopard.
No dropouts, clicks, pops or weird speeding up.
Only issue: No connection to host with FW800/800 cable. I had to use the 400 port of the Fireface with a 800/400 cable.
Might be the cable, I'll check that soon.
(Thanks to Apple for getting rid of one firewire port and the expresscard slot on the 15.4" model. But hey, they added
a SD card slot instead...)

Have you confirmed if it is the cable that was the problem?
I'm considering upgrading to this model of the MBP.

Thanks!

...ummm...not yet.
But I can do so in a couple of days when I'm back.
I'll let you know!
