Topic: Firewire Chipsets of current MacBook Pros, will it work with FF400

Hi,

Please excuse me if the answer can be found somewhere in this forum. But to me the situation of compatible Mac Laptops and their Firewire chipsets compatible to the FF 400 seems very obscure.
I was wondering if the Fireface 400 is compatible with the current MacBook Pro models. I was following the discussions and issues going on with the different firewire chipsets used by Apple and all the different Drivers RME released. But as far as I understand the main problem occurred with the FF 800, am I right?
But after a while (and because I was lucky and was never affected by this problem) I stopped following theses discussions...and after all the major and little updates of the MacBook Pros I am unsure if they will work flawlessly with the FF 400.

So will a brand new MacBook Pro 13" with 2,66 GHz, Intel Core 2 Duo work well with my FF 400?
I know the current MacBook Pros only have a Firewire 800 port. As far as I understand all I need is an adapter cable from firewire 800 to Firewire 400, right?

thanks for all your answers in advance.

Yes and yes. See the chipset identification thread.
