Topic: Let's talk about music for a while ...

I'm wondering which AD converters have the best performances (in terms of sound transparency), those of ADI-8 Pro or those of Octamic II, when running at 24 bits / 44.1 kHz. The specs are similar for THD. Would have I more satisfaction coupling the analog outputs of my Octamic II to an ADI-8 pro's analogs inputs, than using the digital outputs of the Octamic II ? Any documented advice that could orientate my equipment choice ?
The DA face has also to be considered, but with a lesser weight.

The DA is actually critically important! If you use a DA of lesser transparency and linearity, you may not hear differences.

I suggest you run your own tests and see if you can tell the difference and also see what you like. You will then be in a position to know and compare future references as your equipment list grows.
