Topic: I thought Emu`s interace software was difficult, but.....

Aaargh!
I am tearing my hair out with trying to install my new-to-me HDSP9652.

I have read all the readmes and still cant make sense of it all.
So far I have managed at least to show the rme card as being installed, but none of my apps will talk to it.
Sonar 8.5.3 says it cannot use the HDSP ins and outs because they are either being used by another program, are set to the wrong settings, or are installed incorrectly.

Windoze cant even address them at all, but finds mt onboard realtek stuff.

I am using a brand new Windows 7 Professional 64 bit on  a 6 core AMD, installed the 32 bit version of Sonar and as far as I can tell the drivers I have installed for the rme are the correct ones, but who know?
Anyone care to give me some kind of a walk through?

I would be very grateful....

Ivan

Re: I thought Emu`s interace software was difficult, but.....

Well I now have version 1.8 of drivers and other software installed and have found the arious components of the rme system.
I have managed to get signal on the inputs of my focusrite octopre`s ADAT channels appearing in Trackmix, but still dont seem to be able to generate any output through Sonar.

I am going to try monitoring via the spdif out of the 9652, as I now have a digital phono to optical spdif  converter and a optical spdif in on on of my outboard analogue/digital processors - a TC Electronic M300.

Hopefully this will solve my remaining problems!

Thanks go to the RME guys for their helpful emails!
