RME User Forum → FireWire & USB series → FF400 ADAT out
Hello all,
I sucessfully did this last year with logic 8 but have since got a new computer and now use ableton live and can't remember my FF400 settings config.
I just want to run the ADAT out from the FF400 and into the ADAT input, and then use the ADAT's analog outputs into my desk.
I can't seem to figure it out. any help?

I didn't get it correctly.
You want to loop the ADAT out back into the Fireface and then route it to the analog outputs?

i just want to expand the ff400's outputs by using my old adat, and then from the adat into my external mixing desk. i hope that makes more sense.
IIRC, you need to put the ADAT machine into Pause/Rec to pass from ADAT in to analog out.
To put it even simpler, i just need to know how to have the 'FF400 Settings' configured. I don't know too much about word clock, spdif and etc.
On my old system i fumbled with the settings and fluked it and it worked eventually, but i would love it if someone could walk me through what settings i need to have to enable signal to go from my DAW, into the FF400 then out of the ADAT OUT and into my ADAT and then finally come out of my mixing desk.

You don't need specific settings (and no Word Clock or SPDIF are involved). Just make sure the DAW software is sending separate signals to the FF's ADAT channels. This needs to be configured in the audio software.
