Topic: Consumer line level implementation

The FireFace 800 has a switch to choose between -10 dBv and +4 dBu. Does anyone know how this is implemented? I'd like to make sure it's not just a digital gain stage (as I have seen in one convertor). I have a bunch of old synths and keyboards that I'd like to connect at consumer level (-10 dBv).

Also the same question for Multiface II.

Thanks very much!

Re: Consumer line level implementation

It's in the analog domain just like the ADI8 and Multiface.  RME is very proud of this feature smile

cool

MADIface-XT+ARC / 3x HDSP MADI / ADI648
2x SSL Alphalink MADI AX
2x Multiface / 2x Digiface /2x ADI8

Re: Consumer line level implementation

Thanks for the reply... in the end I opted for a LYNX Studio Aurora 16 into the HDSPe RayDAT. The Lynx allows the inputs and outputs to be switchable between -10 and +4 independently in groups of 4 (but only when it's cabled up to the computer), so that gives a nice amount of flexibility on this front.
