FF400 (drivers version 2.72)

Hi I'm new here and I'm having problems with the fireface 400.
When I'm sending audio to the inputs I get digital noises and crackles and while that happens I see the meters and signal lights of the other inputs light up. Also, when I record something, the digital noises are being recorded but now comes the strange part: when I get a lot of digital bursts while I'm recording, then this results in a pitch drop in the recorded audio file. I'm assuming this has something to do with the sample rate but both my DAW and the FF400 are on the same sampling rate.
