Topic: Which Notebook works without problems with the fireface 800?

Hello, I need help. My old Notebook (Dell 9400) is out of order and I want to buy a new one.
I've tested a Dell Studio 1747 and it doesn't work and I've tested a MacBook Pro (13'') and I haven't a good performance (worse than my old Dell).

Has anyone got a new notebook which works without problems? I want to use Cubase 5, NI Komplete 6 and maybe 30 AudioTracks. I want a low latency (Guitar Rig should be played with 64 buffersize).
Has anyone experience with the core i7 macbook pro, what about latency? As I would prefer to use a PC Notebook, its again: Mac or PC? Is it possible to use a Mac Notebook and a PC Desktop? (I've got a PC Desktop which runs very good)

Thank you very much!

Not the latest modell, but working well: Toshiba Satellite Pro P300.
Using it for about a year, mainly for recording out-of-house, together with FF800 + Cubase 5, still on Win XP.
Trying Win7 at the moment which runs smooth generally but creates crackles and dropouts when recording (didn't identify the problem yet, hopefully I just need to change some system settings).

Are there notebooks working fine with windows 7?

What about the new macBook pro?

Hi,

It seems like all the Dell and HP laptops people have tried have varying forms of poor performance or just don't plain work for audio.

These performance and compatibility issues are common with every audio hardware and software manufacturer atm not just RME.
RME at least is public about these issues and try to resolve if at all possible. Same can't be said for the majority of the Pro Audio companies atm sadly.

Thanks Chris

It's a crap shoot with modern laptops.

You might just be safer going this route, all be it more expensive:
