Topic: How play MP3 surround under XPsp2?

Hello

My question :
I have MP3 surround encoded files.
How to play MP3 surround files under XPsp2 with my RME card ?

My configuration :
HDSP96/32 on XP SP2 with Expansion Board HDSPe AO4S-192
Windows driver 3.084, last firmware

Surround
I would like to have this outputs : 1-2, 3-4, 5 is center, 6 is the Subwoofer

but when i use VLC or others, i only have 2 outputs

How can i do (i want use a standard player : VLC or Winamp, not profesionnal like cubase) ?

Re: How play MP3 surround under XPsp2?

Google is your friend, and this is probably no RME issue. MP3 surround files are not supported by VLC so it falls back to 2 ch. Winamp 5.5+ should support it. Make sure you configure Windows for 5.1. Control panel > Sounds and Audio Devices. Click on Advanced in the Speaker Settings and select '5.1 surround sound speakers' from pull down menu.
