Topic: FF800 but need more inputs
I have the FF800. So I can connect 12 mics with the various preamps I have. I would like to connect more. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

The Fireface has two ADAT inputs. You can connect two OctaMic II with 2 x 8 MicPreamps.
best regards

Thank you for the reply. I was hoping for something a bit less expensive. I don't necessarily need the preamps. Is there another alternative?
12 mics ? Do you use SPDIF ?
Because FF800 has only 10 analog inputs.
With a SPDIF, you can expand more 2 channels.
Check if some periferic has a SPDIF or ADAT output, as ART DSP II and others
If you want, can use a mixer for send many channels in same time by AUX send. Put in channel 7-10, they are preamps.
Yes, I have a Joe Meek preamp that has digital outs so I am using the SPDIF. And my mixing board's preamps are ok. A little noisy. I am looking around for another preamp that I can utilize the ADAT. Have you used the ART DSP II?
Hi Wayon,
If you want to add 8 more Mic pres via the ADAT ports the lest expensive device I've heard that works well is the Presonus Digimax FS.
To get any noticably better quality beyond that you will be in the $1000 plus range.

Thanks for the info Chris. I will check it out.
