Topic: HDSP9652 Installation problems, won't recognize driver

I've been running Vista 64 bit for more than a year with no problems whatsoever....HDSP has been working perfectly!! I decided to partition and add 32 bit, due to some limitations with other hardware and plugins. The first challenge was that the HDSP would not even be recognized as new hardware in 32 bit, but was still recognized and working fine in 64. Changed pci slots, 32 bit OS  then recognized and installed.  Was working fine, then a system crash/dump happened....now HDSP doesn't work in either!?!?  Did a complete wipe of the 32 bit drive and re-installed. It recognizes the new hardware but will not install the drivers. It registers as a new "multimedia audio controller" in both 32 bit and the already established 64 bit...where it was working fine before....and does not recognize the RME installation cd as the proper driver in either OS now?!?   Under Computer Management, in the Device Manager tab, the HDSP is recognized as an "other device," not in sound, video and game controllers, both in the 32 and 64 bit OS.

I'm completely stumped as to how/why this would happen?  Is this a driver issue with the OS? I know the card is seated properly, as it was working fine in 64 bit before the crash....now it won't work in either. Is it possible I ruined/damaged the card by switching back and forth between pci slots, trying to get it recognize?

Please help!

Try to clean the card's gold contacts with a rubber pencil.
