Topic: Silver USB cable that comes with Fireface UC

Hi,

The usb cable I got with my Fireface UC has no ferrite core, does this matter at all?  Its silver inside, and has a transparent covering.  Im guessing RME wouldnt send out something that wasnt fine, its just all my other audio stuff has a ferrite core on the cable!

i can tell you as an electrical that this is such b...s... about this ferrite things. just watch that the usb cable is not close to a cable that leads 100VAC or 220VAC and you`re in top shape! unless you have a bordello of cables mixed up on the table there should be no difference. the usb cable they give is the shielded one and it is the best quality. the bad quality are the plastic ones without screen. what you see through the transparent plastic is the screen.

I used 5m USB cables without ferrite cores without problems.

In fact I have never seen USB cables with ferrite cores...
