Topic: Total Mix monitoring problem with Logic?

I am using a FF400 with Logic Pro and have a monitoring issue i just can't seem to fix, concerning monitoring of mono signals.

I work entirely in midi for instrumentation and the only 'real audio' signal in my projects is mono vocal tracks.

In logic I have de-selected the software monitoring and only monitor from Total Mix.  This is ok for the stereo mix/instruments signal from Logic, but trying to record vocals in, they are coming out of one ear in the phones, ie true mono, not double mono.   The only way around this is to select the mono function in Total Mix, which changes the entire mix to double mono.  Good for vocals, they now come through in double mono, but obviously so does the music; ruining the vibe.

Is there a way to hear the vocals through both L&R in the phones and still have the music in true stereo?

Re: Total Mix monitoring problem with Logic?

There is a pan field above the input channel, center this while within the monitoring submix to get dual mono.

Thanks so much Jeff, that has really made my day:-)

Who would have thought that a panning knob could be substituted with a non-descript little green line?
