Topic: Stand Alone MIDI troubles - controlling the volume of the outputs.

Hi,
I have a MIDI controller plugged directly into the fireface USB. From there, I have the fireface connected (via USB) to my computer, so I can look at totalmix.
Now, I have configured my controller such that a knob controls the volume of output AN3 (on the bottom row - for those interested, this is done by CC104 on channel 9). This works fine.

NOW, when I unplug the fireface from the computer, and use it in stand alone mode (as I do at gigs), this same knob no longer controls the volume. It ceases to work. In fact, when I quite "Fireface USB Mixer" on my computer whilst it is still plugged into the computer, the know no longer controls the volume.

The one problem I can see is the following: The first 8 faders of the middle row have labels that have turned from black to yellow, indicating, according to page 76 of the manual, that these are the faders being controlled my midi in stand alone mode. Does anyone know how i can get the midi controlling the output channels in stand alone mode? This has been an extremely frustrating experience. As it stands, I cannot control my volume levels at a show.

Thankyou in advance,

Cameron

Re: Stand Alone MIDI troubles - controlling the volume of the outputs.

This is a software solution done by TotalMix. No TM - no support for this feature. And it is clearly mentioned in the manual that this feature is not available in stand-alone mode. If you want to use it this way you have to use the Mackie Protocol.
