Topic: MADI Daisy-Chaining

I read up on MADI daisy chaining here in the various forum posts and in the RME manuals, but I still have one question.  Can you daisy chain modules from different manufacturers?  I assume you can, but I'd like to be sure.  Would this setup work, and if so, how would the various I/O points appear in my DAW?

Re: MADI Daisy-Chaining

Yes, you can do this, as long as you have a bank of 8 channels unused by the Alphalink. You'll set the ID# on the Micstasy to make sure it uses these open channels. For instance, ID#1 is ch 1-8, ID#2 is ch 9-16, etc.

You will lose MIDI over MADI control of the Micstasy, since the SSL unit will not pass this data.
