Topic: RME Fireface UC Output Clipping Audio (ovr) in TM

Hi,

I've recently purchased a Fireface UC and updated all drivers and everything seemed to work fine.
Today however I opened up a project in Cubase and the output of Totalmix overloads/clips.

The levels in Cubase have to be at least -7 dB from 0dB, so Cubase doesn't seem to cause the issue.
Furthermore when switching to Built in Audio the signal is clean ( i don't hear it clipping). I also
checked both outputs with Pink noise and the clipping occurs at about -6 dB in Cubase's Stereo Output
when using the Fireface.

What could be causing the problem?

Setup:
iMac 27" 2,66 GHz i5 8 GB ram 10.6.4
Fireface UC 23067912 Mixer factory preset 1 (Rev. 111)
Cubase 5.5.1

Greetings,

Hi,

Check Cubase (?) VST Connections
if using Studio / Control Room Mixer
then check so Output isn't doubled !?
or you get this effect + 6 dB

if routing Out Analog from Cubase/FF to In FF/Totalmix/Cubase
level should not differentiate more/less than 0.5 dB
if matching -10 dBV, + 4 dB or High gain out/in

Ah disabling the control room output fixed it.
Have to catch up on reading manuals for my updates wink

Thanks S-EH !!!
