Hello, this is the first time Im trying to record into my mac through the XLR inputs and I'm getting a lot of hiss and noise. What am I doing wrong? Also I get the hiss without even having the synth on the other end on. If I listen to the synth directly through the outputs it sounds ok. Also the audio cables are new.
Are you trying to record your synth from its headphone outputs?
No, I'm going straight from the output of the synth to the XLR input on the card. The thing is there is line noise and I have to set the card to -10 to hear the synth right but since there is noise in the card I hear it that amplified. What I haven't tried is to record and see if the line noise is recorded. Will try that when I get home. But its very annoying to work with. Im thinking of changing cards, the line noise has been improved over time but it still there...
