Hello.
I am using a Mac mini 3,1 with OS X 10.6.4 and a Fireface400 with firmware 1.69
After just upgrading the driver to the version 2.82 everything with FF400 stopped working...
no audio, just sudden pops and cracks, totalmix meters seem laggy..
whats wrong?

I have a new 2010 macbook pro 13" and I am getting stuttering and crackling audio with my fireface 800. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Have an old Quad Intel Xeon 2.66 am getting stuttering and crackling audio with my fireface 800 since installing new RME drivers (2.82) and software updates from apple (6 of them) all yesterday. No idea how to end it or what the problem is. The apple's built in audio is working fine, but fireface is useless with the stuttering. Anyone else having or know a way around or out of this, please? I should add the fireface has been working great (after once having to exchange for a hardware problem) some time ago. Problem started after the software updates yesterday.

Oh la la ... I removed the driver temporarily until we checked what is going on here. Stay tuned!
I uploaded the driver again. 2.82 works on all our Macs with no problem.
Did anyone of you take a look into the Settings dialog? The new driver 2.82 resets the settings (to AutoSync), maybe you have a simple clock problem?
Otherwise please provide more details about settings and your setup.

Nur Knacksen auf dem Linken Kanal.
In Settings ist der Reiter f?r DDS verschwunden.

vorherigen Treiber 2,75 gefunden und installiert.
Alles funktioniert nun wieder mit dem alten Treiber.
Updating my earlier post of stutters and crackles: Unintalled 2.82 (see below), and re-installing 2.82 produced that same problem. Uninstalling 2.82 then installing 2.75 (and restarting) got my audio problems gone and back in business with my beloved fireface 800:):):):):):)

Uninstall Fireface driver instructions(for Apple).
Send the following files to Trash, restart, empty Trash, then install the driver.
/Applications/Fireface Mixer
/Applications/Fireface Settings
/Library/Audio/MIDI Drivers/Fireface MIDI.plugin
/System/Library/Extensions/FirefaceAudioDriver.kext
/Users/username/Library/Preferences/Fireface folder
/Users/username/Library/Preferences/com.rme.FirefaceMixer.plist
/Users/username/Library/Preferences/com.rme.FirefaceSettings.plist
When using the new Snow Leopard driver also delete:
/Library/LaunchAgents/de.rme-audio.firefaceAgent.plist
I also uninstalled 2.82 and installed 2.75 and it is now working for me. Thank you for the help.
reinstalling the old driver version seems to have cleared things up by now. Definitely not just a clocking problem as I tried different clock settings (master with different sample rates). In the fireface window there was not any DDS or About page anymore, and the update also installed a new program; totalmix (reads as Total mix FX in the application window), but the program hangs when trying to use it.

I had this stuttering problem lately with the 2.89 driver, so I did all the uninstall/reinstall thing, and found out suprisingly that my library/extensions folder was empty!
same thing after reinstalling that same 2.89 driver...
fireface works,
strange!??
ok my problem was due to the firewire 800 cable itself, with a 400 and an adapter to 800, it's rock solid again with my macpro nehalem.
