Topic: FW800 Lacie drive not mounting when connected via FF800 interface

Hi,

I have a MacBook Pro and a FireFace800, connected via FW800. All is well with the interface. I also have a Lacie rugged external firewire drive. If I connect this drive directly to the MBP, it powers up and mounts as normal. If I connect it to the MBP via the FireFace800's second FW800 port (ie second device in the FW800 chain), it neither powers up nor mounts.

Is there a restriction regarding powering FW800 devices through the FireFace800? I even tried powering the Lacie drive with an external PSU, but it still doesn't power up or mount when chained onto the FireFace800.

I've tried different cables etc.

Many thanks,
Matt

The FF800 does not provide bus power. Try powering the drive externally.
