Topic: Fireface 800 high frequency noise emitting from unit

Whenever my Fireface 800 is turned on, a high frequency noise is emitted from the unit.  It is fairly low in volume, seems to be centered at a high-mid frequency and occurs whether I'm connected to my Mac Pro or Macbookpro.  I thought it might be some sort of ground loop error, but it still occurs on laptop battery power.  Anyone have any thoughts as to what might be causing this?

Thanks,

Will

Re: Fireface 800 high frequency noise emitting from unit

Hi,

Can you record this noise and is it digital/analog Out
or does it show in DigiCheck
or is it inside the Fireface hardware ?

Re: Fireface 800 high frequency noise emitting from unit

The noise from my unit is not from any audio output, it is the unit itself that is making the noise.

Re: Fireface 800 high frequency noise emitting from unit

Whereabouts does it occur? Does it only occur when the unit is connected via FW? Have you tried with a PC?

It occurs whether connected via firewire or not.  I don't have a pc to connect to.

Where does the noise seem to come from? Can you record it?
