Topic: Fireface 400 on Mac: not recognized, red host led active

Hi,

I have been using my ff400 for about 10 months without any problems, up until this morning, i tuen on everything and the red host led stays active(red), i have tried reinstalling latest drivers and still no joy. I tried switching on/off the unit and my studio monitors make a 'connected' noise for want of a better word so i don't think its the cable.

Anybody any ideas? The fireface isnt in my audio/midi settings either in utilities? Im using a new macbook pro with snow leopard, which i have been using without trouble since i got the rme!

Any help appreciated

yes i am also trying it on a different pc now, im using windows xp and when i try and install the flash it won't run!!! when i plug the unit in via firewire the host led still remains constant, whats going on??? any ideas

i manually installed the driver through control panel add new hardware wizard, installed ok,=> still red host led is active => went into device manager and under properties for the rme 400 it has ==>  This device cannot start. (Code 10)

Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device.

The fireface mixer and settings options are in the task bar in the bottom right corner but won't launch!

Any ideas, thinking of bringing it back to the dealer at this stage as its still in warranty and i never had any problems like this before!!!!
