Topic: can't figure out how to record on RME fireface 400 channels 3,4 or 5

Hi all,
i've been  trying with no luck  to record guitar on channel 3,4 or 5 of my RME fireface 400.
I have no problem with channels 1 and 2.
I'm wondering if it's a "setting"  issue or Totalmix issue.

1-2 are pre amp Hi-z...3-4-5 are not...(im a newbie so dont take my word for it)...do you use a DI on 3-4-5 ? or plugged straight?

In 3 and In 4 can be set to Inst mode to accept Hi-Z. Do you see the signal in the FF Mixer top row? If so, then it's a software settings problem. TotalMix does not have any effect on software inputs.

I've used channel 3 and 4 with guitar direct in so it should not be a problem.

hi,
do you see an input in totalmix on 3+4?
which program you are using to record? are the canals activated in your daw?
