RME User Forum → FireWire & USB series → Fireface 800 + Finale 2010 /2011 => CRASH !
I can?t use my ff800 with Finale 2010 / 2011. Finale 2007 was working fine.
I use Asus P5Q deluxe with Vista 64 Ultimate and Win 7 / 64 Ultimate - fresh installed. RME Driver 3.031 , Firmware 2.77.
No Finale Problems with onboard sound with Vista 64 Ultimate / Home Premium and Win7 Ultimate at various configs.
Is anybody out there with an workaround ?

I've had this problem with Finale 2011 using the Mackie Onyx and some other interfaces also. I have not tried yet with an RME card.
As long as the pro audio device is turned on Finale won't get past the Midi port setup. If the Pro Audio unit is turned off you can load Finale with on board fine.
Not sure if Finale is crashing when it scanning the ASIO driver or when it is scanning the WDM driver part of the pro Audio device.
The Fix would seem to him to be on the Finale end not RME's for this.
I have Sibelius 5.25 working fine with both on board audio or ASIO on Win 7 64 bit and it isn't supposed to work at all. Go figure.
The only not really work around at this point is to leave the Pro Audio device off.
I would call MakeMusic support and tell them to fix it or update their support page to start that the software does not work fully under Win 7 64 bit.

In Windows 7 64 bit you can't launch Finale to even get into the device setup unless the Mackie Onyx I tried was off. I think is whats is happening to trumpet also.
So we can get to the direct sound setting. Make Music really need to fix that jeez..
