Topic: howto? Midi Keyboard -> Babyface -> Piano Software -> Active Monitor

Hello all,

I hope it is ok to ask a newbie question about how to use the Babyface here. I had no luck to get it working by reading the manual.

My goal:
I want to
- connect a Midi Keyboard to the "Bface"
- Select the Bface in a piano simulation software (Pianoteq)
- Let the software generate the sound in real time while I play
- Send the sound to my active monitors via Bface output (XLR cable) to hear what I play

I use Win 7 64 Bit.

What I got so far:
- Installed Bface driver (from website)
- Updated Bface firmware (173 -> 176 from website)
- connected keyboard Midi Out to Bface Midi In
- Found and selected ASIO Device in Pianoteq software (it now says "listening to  Babyface Midi Port 1").
- In that dialog there is also an output part, in that one "Analog 1 and 2 are checked; the others like Analog 3, 4, ADAT(1) etc. are not checked.
- Connected the Bface Line Out L and R with my monitors balanced Line In.

So far so good. But I don't hear anything when hitting a key on the keyboard.
So for sure I missed some settings.

Can somebody give me a hint what I need to do?

Thank you in advance

Do you see meters in the Totalmix application when you play Pianoteq? If so, which channels show meters?

I see the meter in AN 1/2 of the Software Playback part of Totalmix.

You need to route the signal to the proper channels in the bottom row (hardware output / control room). Select the desired output in the bottom row and pull up the software playback channel fader.
