Topic: how to register a guitar with fireface 400 into my daw?

dear forum readers,
me and a friend of mine are about to start working on a remix project. he plays guitar and would like to add some guitar sounds recorded on the spot. I will be in charge of the electronic parts wink
I'm using ableton live.
I've never registered a guitar before and I'd like to ask you how to do it without messing things up.
which inputs should I use? the mic 1/2 inputs? should I then activate the phantom power? how do I do it? (through the digital rme mixer? or else?)
or should I use the 3/4 inst/line inputs?
or regular inputs?
should the guitar enter as mono? using which kind of jack?
HeadScratch
as you can see, I'm on the verge of going crazy.
sorry for being so annoying and thanks for your help and patience to whoever answers this.
regards.

Re: how to register a guitar with fireface 400 into my daw?

Use either input 3 or 4 (mono), with "Inst" mode activated for this input in the FF settings app. This input will accept a regular guitar cord (1/4" TS), and you can control the input gain in the FF settings.
