Topic: Laptop with more than 24 inputs

Hello,
I'm trying to learn a little more about MADI, so I hope you will pardon the newbie question.

I currently work with 3 Octamics into a Digiface, and ExpressCard into a laptop.  Am I correct to think that more than 24 inputs will require something like an ADI-648 into a MADIFace?

Yes, because there are no double ExpressCard slots (like there used to be laptops with double CardBus slots).

My T500 Thinkpad has both an ExpressCard slot and a CardBus slot (which is the main reason I bought it.)  So your reply means I could use my Digiface/ExpressCard AND my older Steinberg/RME "Digiface"/CardBus in the same laptop, for up to 48 inputs?  That would be great!

But still, I'd want to move to the ADI-648/MADIface soon anyway.

Yes Ira, basically you can do that! Like on a desktop PCI and PCI Express can be mixed. No problem from our side, but sometimes a problem from the computer side...
