Topic: Digiface + cardbus I/O state error
Hi!
My Digiface+cardbus combination (with the flat connector) has worked flawlessly for more than ten years (I think I bought it in 1999), kudos to RME! Recently however I have had major issues. First a power supply died. But that is to be expected after ten years, and I had a spare (from the quadmic which I only use battery powered) so no problem. But about a week ago things got worse. "I/O state" started cycling between "detected" and "error".
* It didn't matter which computer it was connected to (I have three different computers that I regularly use with the RME card)
* It also didn't matter which power supply I used (I got another spare after the first one failed)
* and it didn't matter which cord I used (I have one long and one really short cord)
So I flashed the latest firmware and the latest drivers, and after that it worked again! Jippie! Well, for a few days, because today it has switched to a new and even stranger behavior. The ASIO panel suddenly looks different and the totalmixer VU meters go crazy while the mixer window switches between three different setups:

Also in Reaper the channels are now called "RPM analog" and "RPM mic".
If I disconnect and reconnect the card the cycling between "detected" and "error" is back, like before the updates. Argh!
So, is all this just a bug in the driver making it think I have another card than the digiface and then going nuts when it doesn't make sense? Or has the digiface or the cardbus card gone banana shaped? Anyone seen anything like it?
