I would like to ask, if anybody can give me a tip. I have just bought me a Mac Pro 8Core (newest OSX) one week ago. I have also a PC with Windows XP and on this system I have a RME Multiface via PCIe connected. I have to say that I was happy with my Multiface all the time. I love the performance, the latency and the system load of my Multiface. Now I have a problem, I can't connect my Multiface with my Mac Pro because I have no PCIe connections any more (a second graphics card and a UAD-2 card is already running). Therefore I want to buy me a second RME unit but now I need either a Fireface UC or a Fireface 400. Now my question is, which one is the better device for my Mac Pro? As I said latency system load and firmness is an important thing for me. Which one conserves the CPU more than the other? One other question is whether you can compare the Fireface UC/400 with the Multiface, I mean with the system load and the "CPU conservation".
