The FF appears on device manage installed as usual, but when trying to open the flash update it does not start. In device manager it says This device cannot start. (Code 10) for the FF
If you see an error message, the unit is not installed "as usual", is it? Which driver version is installed? Please provide more details.

The 29992 driver is installed
But on device manager a exclamation mark appears on top of the RME FF
Seems the driver is not installed correctly somehow. Please provide more details about the system.

Get the latest driver from the RME site. Unzip them to a folder on your computer. From Device Manager, perform Update Driver. Do NOT choose the automatic option, direct it to the folder with the new driver. Reboot.
Still the warning message?
After installing the FF400 and restarting the commputer on device manager over the RME Fireface their is a exclamation mark. When i have a look at the driver it says driver version . 2.9.992.0 and also says below not digitally signed
It's possible that (in a misguided quest for ultimate security) your computer has been set to reject drivers that are not Digitally Signed. Here are Microsoft's directions for doing this. Maybe you need to reverse the procedure?
You can block the installation of device drivers that do not contain a digital signature. Use this approach when you want to prevent any deliberate attempts to destabilize the computer. To do this, follow these steps:
Click Start, click Run, type control sysdm.cpl in the Open box, and then click OK.
Click the Hardware tab.
Under Drivers, click Driver Signing, and then click Block - Never install unsigned driver software.
Click OK two times.
This only blocks the software from being installed
