Topic: 9632 Heaphone Out Help

Having a problem with the headphone out on my balanced breakout cable.    A friend (studio tech) soldered the cable for me using the DB15 pinout in the manual. 

I took the headphone out and patched it into another interface to meter my problem.    The problem is:
-when I pan left, the sound follows left
-when I pan right, the meters show equal left and right
-when I pan up the middle the music is stereo but the low end (bass/kick) is panned right...

Is the pinout soldering incorrect?  Any help appreciated.

Does it work correctly with the original breakout cable?

The only cable I was given with this card is a DB9 to spdif.   Is it possible there could be a problem with the card that would manifest like this?

Unlikely. I expect a soldering error especially with ground. The main gnd connection for the phones is pin 9, please make sure this one is correct.
