Topic: Fireface 800 - "jumpy" recording problem

I'm trying to record with my Fireface 800 using Sony Acid Pro 7.0 on Windows Vista, but certain parts of the signal seem to be randomly lost. I'm not sure how to explain it in words, but for example:

I record a piece of music that is 20 seconds long. I think all has went well, but then I play back what I have recorded and I realize there are small chunks missing from the recording, resulting in a recording that is only 19.5 seconds long. These little chunks are at seemingly random points in the recording, causing it to sound jumpy and become out of time with the rest of the song.

For instance, I might be playing the following chords: A B# E F, but the Fireface will randomly cut out the E chord (or at least a small portion of it). Obviously, this makes any of my recordings useless. sad
