Topic: HDSP 9632 noise when power on/off

Hello,

I have a problem with HDSP 9632 PCI.
When switching PC power on/off a peak signal (short-term very loud noise/gride) is generated on analog line outs.
I need to turn off the speakers during computer shutdown/startup to avoid hurting them.
I've checked it on two different machines so probably motherboard is not the reason (one of them was ASUS P5N-EM HDMI).
Changing position of the blue jumper makes no difference.

Thank you for any help.

Regards

Greg

Hi,

that's quite normal for this card. And it is standard procedure to turn speakers on last and off first...
An external volume control with a mute button will also help (e.g. Nanopatch).

Re: HDSP 9632 noise when power on/off

my tip:

use a cheap usb power socket which is controllable to shut down the socket power of the speakers on shut down of windows. the gembird sis-pm is able to do this, you can even power on/off the speakers with the programstart of your editing program...
