RME User Forum → FireWire & USB series → Been trying to install my RME FF400 for two weeks no Success
I have tried updating my software from XP SP3 to Windows 7
I have got a new fire wire cable
The 1394 appears fine on device manager but when the FF is plugged in nothing appears.
My installation method was to add new hardware then select the fireface.inf file through have disk
then update the driver through device manager and restart.
Anything i am doing wrong?
I lost my RME installation disk

It does not appear on device manager ? Only when i add the device manually.
I have been through those instructions.

Nothing comes up.
The FF 400 does not pop or get detected but the cable works fine and the FF powers up through bus aswell
FAO Daniel Fuchs, I cannot reinstall my FF400 after a c:drive reformat. I am seeing an unknown device in the device manager (multimedia). How do I proceed reinstallling ?

Right-click, select "Update driver", install as usual.
