Topic: Possibly OT: High pitched ringing from speakers

Hoping I might get some assistance in idenitifying why I am getting a high pitched ringing from my Focal Twin6 Be monitors.

Config:  DAW Asus 970 intel 64bit 6GB mem
            Fireface 400
            Focal monitors

Listening through the AKG's head phones no ringing but when playing back through the monitors its clearly there.  What might the reasons be for this?

Bad cables (running balanced outputs)?
Bad 115v source?

????

Hi Jim,

I wonder if you have an open mic in the room near your speakers?
That will cause this ringing. Sounds like it may be feedback.
