There is not enough i/o on my Fireface 800 any more because i use my external compressors as inserts while i'm mixing. I therfore need more ins and outs, don't realy care for more pres. What's a cheap but relying way to go?

Have i got this right? If i conect for example a focusrite octopre Le (i know it has preamps on it) will i then get 8 more i/o to play with at 48k? Will Pro Tools 9 then show me analog outputs 1-16 together with my ff?... Or will i just get 8 more inputs used only for tracking?
