Topic: FireFace UC + Win 7 X64 + Sonar 8.5 X64 .... is WDM as good as ASIO ?

Hi

Just wondering, given I am running Sonar 8.5 X64 + Win 7 X64 will WDM give me lower latency and better stability than ASIO  *or*  will their performance be identical ?

Typically ASIO is preferred for DAW use.

Because of the way Sonar works, it may be identical (Sonar 7) and not really any worse. In fact I prefer WDM/KS right now to ASIO because they are identical with what I am using. Perhaps if I had a faster computer, and wanted to use Direct Monitoring I might try ASIO but that probably be different software DAW. I use headphones out and there is no latency there with doing it that way with the Babyface. So, Sonar works that way, and other software DAW probably do not.
