Topic: Master Clock? Using 2x: RME AES/32, 3x: Mytek 8x192, Manley SLAM

I've got a pretty healthy set up going, and am mixing through an analog console.
I'm getting 'digital clicks' here and there.

In Digital Performer, I've selected AGGREGATE DEVICE, since I'm using 2 AES/32 cards and 3 Mytek converters.

I suspect that I'm doing something goofy.

Is there a MASTER CLOCK setting I'm not aware of?

In my HDSP/MADI Ref set up,  I'm using AES

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Here's my signal chain:

Digital Performer ->
2x  RME/AES-32 (PCIx) ->
3x  Mytek 8x192 ->
mixing through my analog Tonelux console / 2 Track out ->
Manley SLAM / SLAM A2Ds ->
Final 2 Track going back into my computer via one of the RME/AES-32 cards

There are 2 settings panels, one for each AES card. Each one has a setting for clocking. You will have to explain your system better in order to get more detailed help - specifically how you have clocking configured on the Myteks and the other external digital devices.

and are you using any word clock cables?  each Mytek has a ton of word clock outputs...

Re: Master Clock? Using 2x: RME AES/32, 3x: Mytek 8x192, Manley SLAM

Thanks guys.  Actually this was totally easy.  Originally, I had ran my word clock cables incorrectly,
then was trying to sync via AES/EBU and everything became a huge Clocking mess!

The solution:

~ Word Clock Calbles (BNC):
From my Master Mytek 8x192, I ran Word Clock Cables (BNC) individually to EVERYTHING.

Each AES-32 card (I have 2) had it's own Word Clock IN Cable,
Word Clock IN to the SLAM and Word Clock IN to each of the 2nd and 3rd Myteks.

~ Mytek Settings
Master Mytek 8x192:
'EXT.CLOCK SOURCE' button: NO SELECTION
'WCK' button: select WCK

Slave Mytek 8x192:
'EXT.CLOCK SOURCE' button: EXT
'WCK' button: select WCK

HDSPe Settings:
Clock Mode:  'check' AutoSync
Preferred Sync Ref / Input Status: 'check' Word Sync
Output Format: 'check' Professional
