Topic: Just installed new Firewire card for my FF800 nd have small issue

Hi guys.
I just got help last week  from you all that I needed a new firewire card so I ordered a SIIg adapter card from sweetwater. Now that it is installed, I no longer get the error message fro mwindows device manager and I can get audio within sonar .

However, I have wave files and MP3's ( 16 bit and 44.1k)  on my desk top and I cannot hear them .I can see them playing in windows media player but I have no audio.I always used to be able to hear them with the old firewire card and that is the only thing I have touched .Any ideas ?


I'm using Windows XP pro service pack 3

Check to see what is selected for Playback device in Control Panel > Sound. Also check TotalMix to see if you have any meter activity on the playback row (middle row) while Media Player is playing.

Ah !  . I didn't think of that .There is a stock sound card in the machine , a Sigma Tel Audio. And in "Sounds and Audio"  it is selected for playback rather than the FF 800. This must be my problem.Thanks very much
